Dale Girard - SAFD Fight Master
Dale is an award winning Fight Director and author of the stage combat manual Actors On Guard. He is a 3rd Degree Black Belt in Taekwondo/Hopkido, a SAG-AFTRA stunt coordinator, member of the North Carolina Stuntmen’s Association and one of only eighteen SAFD recognized Fight Masters. Credits include the Metropolitan Opera, Folger Theatre, Signature Theatre, Opera Carolina, Piedmont Opera, Pioneer Theatre, Studio Arena Theatre, Triad Stage, and Chautauqua Opera. Jayme Green - SAFD Certified Teacher
Jayme C Green is an Assistant Professor of Theatre Arts at Rocky Mountain College in Billings, MT, and Certified Teacher with the Society of American Fight Directors. Jayme has been involved in numerous productions locally and throughout the region as an actor, director, writer, fight choreographer, stunt performer, designer and instructor. Production credits include Rock of Ages, Cymbeline, One Flew Over The Cuckoo’s Nest, The Lieutenant of Inishmore, Noises Off!, Stupid F@#king Bird, The Graduate ,and The 39 Steps. He is a creator of many art forms and incorporates that interdisciplinary concept to all endeavors, including his original short film Little Red Firetruck and original one-person show soon to be debuted, Blank Slate. Jayme is also a man of mystery and power, whose power is exceeded only by his mystery. And is also an accomplished parallel parker.
Mary Karcz - Stunt Performer
Mary Karcz has been lit on fire over 150 times and rappelled face-first down the side of a hundred foot tall building… but when she's not tackling someone 100 pounds heavier than herself, you'll find her sharpening her wit through improvisation or sketch comedy. Nicknamed “Queen Mary” by martial arts legend “Judo” Gene LeBell, she is a quick-witted, adventure-seeking thespian and athlete. Mary trained in courses at the Guthrie Theater and is a graduate of the Conservatory Program at Second City Hollywood. She enjoys playing a wide range of characters in both comedic and dramatic roles. Member of SAG-AFTRA, The Television Academy and Taurus World Stunt Awards. She performed in Terminator 2:3D at Universal Studios Hollywood and The Great Diamond Heist at Kingdoms of Discovery in China. Recent credits include Grimm, Pee-wee's Big Holiday, and Angie Tribeca.
Aaron Preusse - SAFD Certified Teacher
Aaron is a Certified Teacher and the Mid-America Regional Rep for the Society of American Fight Directors as well as receiving honors of Advanced Gold with Recommendation from the British Academy of Dramatic Combat. His fight choreography has been seen at the Guthrie Theater, The Ordway Center for Performing Arts, the Minnesota Opera, Six Elements Theatre Company, Park Square Theatre, Theatre Pro Rata as well as many other theatres and films throughout the Midwest. Aaron is a graduate of the Dell’Arte International School of Physical Theatre and the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art. Amie Root - SAFD Certified Teacher
Amie Root is certified teacher with the Society of American Fight Directors, an actor, fight director and movement instructor. She worked as a teaching artist for the Tony award winning Shakespeare Theatre Company, DC, for three years. She studied her BA in Drama at the University of Wisconsin Stevens Point. She is currently based out of Minneapolis, MN, but travels teaching movement and stage combat courses at universities and theaters across the country.
Ernesto Maldonado - Historical Martial Artist
Ernesto Maldonado has studied historical fencing since 1988, taught historic swordplay since 2005, and began working on using historical fencing in stage combat in 1997. He worked initially at an outdoor environment at multiple Renaissance Festivals, and for the Minnesota Six Elements Human Combat Chess shows for the past four years. He has utilized multiple historical systems in his choreography, while also using methods learned within the stage combat process to teach historical martial arts in multiple states. His specialties in historic combat include Bolognese Sidesword, Italian Rapier, and Spanish Destreza.
